School Workshop at Village Primary

On the 2nd of May, as a part of The Web of Water project, Artcore delievered a workshop with pupils of Village Primary School in Derby.

The pupils were given a brief about the project, telling them some facts on water and explaining the medium of Graphic Novels – the art medium they’d be basing their pieces on.
The children worked on the artworks with great interest and enthusiasm, each coming up with a brilliant idea for the project.
One of the pupils thought of the Amazon River becoming polluted from the rubbish being dropped by the tourists. Another pupil painted a story of a fish making a new home in somebody’s sink because the water they were living in became too dirty.

All the children enjoyed the workshop while creating great pieces of work, and we would like to thank Village Primary School for taking part in the Web of Water project. We would also love to the see the students take part in projects with us again in the near future. All the artworks created by the participants will be put up in another school through an inter school exhibition and also selected works will be exhibited alongside Artists works at Deda in September during Derby Feste 2014.
