We would like to invite you to join in the celebrations of the Web of Water project on 27th September 2014 from 4:30pm – 6pm at deda, the Mayor of Derby Cllr. Shiraz Khan will be amongst the special guest on the day.
As a part of the celebrations, the project outcomes of The Web of Water will be showcased through art exhibitions by professional artists (Indian and English), ‘Children and Water’ artworks created by children and young people and outcomes encompassing the activities within the heritage section of the project.
Artcore’s project, The Web of Water incorporates the medium of visual art both locally and internationally, presenting the different historical, cultural and traditional attitudes towards the concept of water. Alongside the cultural and historical aspects of the project, a more serious message is also explored, using artistic mediums to express the social, political and environmental impacts the misuse of water within modern day society.
The project focusses on three main areas, Heritage, Art and Education, employing various techniques to convey its message, using artist exhibitions and installations as well as school based workshops and community participatory activities to revolutionise the way we think about water.
