The Web of Water project invites local residents to get involved in a free training session on 16th April from 11am to 2.30pm to capture how oral history is practised in the community and how best it is recorded.
Lunch will be provided.
Oral history is an exciting resource that can bring subjects to life through the first-hand accounts of real people. Artcore is offering a training on how oral history can be used with different age groups, and how you can make oral history recordings of your own. Colin Hyde from East Midlands Oral History Archive will be delivering this training. The project will find ways of recording oral history and participants exploring the notion of water, traditions around the theme and issues of its use etc.
